Church of St. Anselm Music Ministry
Wedding Music
Congratulations on your upcoming Wedding!  In preparation for your special event we are
available to assist you in planning music that will enhance and enrich your Nuptial
celebration.  If you have not already scheduled an appointment with Michael Zorner, the
parish music director, please do so by calling the parish office at 732-493-4411 ext. 107 or
by e-mailing
mzorner[at]stanselm.com.  Appointments are usually set up for after mass on
the weekend, however can be arranged at a different time if necessary, and usually last
about 30-45 minutes.

Below are listed the parish guidelines for wedding music at St. Anselm.

1.  Sacred music is an expression of the assembly's prayer and praise to God for this
wonderful occasion.  For this reason, the music used in church will be sacred in nature and
liturgically appropriate.

2.  It is important to consider the participation by your wedding guests in selecting your
music.

3.  Parish musicians and cantors are used for the Liturgy.  Other arrangements
require the
pre-approval of the music director.
Do not sign a contract with anyone to play for
your wedding liturgy before obtaining this approval.
If permission is obtained a
rehearsal may be required.  The fee for rehearsals is $50 per hour.  If the use of
all outside
musicians is approved and they are utilized there will still be a parish music minister present
to oversee the use of our sound equipment, all musical equipment and instruments.
Therefore, a "bench fee" of $150 will be required and is to be paid 2 weeks in advance of
the wedding.

4.  Special hymn requests need to be made well in advance.  If approved you will be
required to supply the sheet music, if we don't have it available.  There will be a fee of $35 if
we obtain special music for you.

5.  The
basic requirements for music are a cantor and pianist for a total of $300 ($150
each).

6.  Additional instrumentation, such as trumpet, violin, flute, etc. can be arranged at
additional costs per musician.  This can be arranged by contacting the music director.
Please book early to avoid disappointment.

7.  Full payment is required
no later than 2 weeks prior to your wedding date. Separate
checks are to be made payable to the individual musicians concerned.  Please mail checks
to the parish office to the attention of Michael Zorner, Music Director.  The parish address
is 1028 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07712.

8.  Please be on time.  Time is valuable to all.  Musicians and Priests frequently have other
commitments.  We are available for 1/2 hour prior to the start of your wedding and up to 1
hour after the start time.  We may have to leave before the Mass/Ceremony is over if you
are late.  It is not fashionable to be late.  Photographers/Videographers/Limo Drivers - you
hire them, you designate the time schedule.

9.  We provide the Prelude, Liturgical and Postlude Music.

10.  In order to encourage participation of your wedding guests the church will provide
programs at no cost to you.  Programs will include an order of the Mass/Ceremony, all
music that will be sung and the names of members of the wedding party.  Names of people
in the wedding party need to be e-mailed to Michael Zorner at
mzorner[at]stanselm.com no
later than 2 weeks before the ceremony.  If you are having an outside party design/print
your programs there will be a fee of $25 for us to send them the music files and copyright
information to be included in the program.  It is a violation of copyright law to include song
lyrics in your program without permission of the copyright holders.  We will gladly help you
through this process if you are having someone else print your programs.

11.  If you are having your Mass/Ceremony recorded you may need to obtain a license to
record any music that is under copyright.  Please let us know early so that we can help you
obtain permission from the copyright holders to record their music.
