Welcome to the homepage for the music
ministry at St. Anselm's. The music ministry
is made up of people of all ages with a range
of musical abilities. Within the ministry are
choir members, cantors, keyboardists,
guitarists and other instrumentalists. Our
purpose is to give glory to God, and to assist
the people of God in giving expression to their
prayer and worship through song.
We, as music ministers, believe in the
following:
Music should assist the assembled believers to
express and share the gift of faith that is
within them and to nourish and strengthen
their interior commitment of faith....The
quality of joy and enthusiasm which music
adds to community worship cannot be gained
in any other way....Music can also unveil a
dimension of meaning and feeling, a
communication of ideas and intuitions which
words alone cannot yield. (from Music in
Catholic Worship, 23-24)
The music ministry is under the direction of
Michael Zorner, with the assistance of Sr.
Diane Matera, Art Reiff, Cindy Buck, Bob
Chewey and Renata Rasp. All of our
musicians generously volunteer their time
(sometimes many hours each week!) and
share their talents with the parishoners of St.
Anselm. For this all are truly grateful!
